Hi All! We just found out Tsukineko announced 2 new colors of my favorite ink, Versafine!!
The name are "Habanero" are "Toffe", sounds yummy, huh? They haven't been released yet, but I was lucky enough to get samples to try out!
I love Versafine because it's well known as a "super-detailed" ink which stamps very fine lines and dots and since it's an oil-based pigment ink, it doesn't require any embossing when I mix it with dye inks. Most of all, I love the earthy palette and the great new colors(one of them is really bright!).
One of my favorite techniques is combining Versafine with Walnut Inks. And since Versafine is oil-based, it resists water colors beautifully.
Here are the two cards two cards I made. There are almost identifical-same technique, same stamps, same colors.
1. I stamped the Bird Cage with VersaFine Black Onyx, then sponged Habanero around the image. For the back ground, I stamped Elegant Flower with Habanero on cream cardstock then brushed Walnut Ink on, starting at the bottom and going up. Dilute the ink as you go so it fades towards the top.I used a regular paintbrush to apply the walnut ink.
For the tag and additional background paper, I randomly stamped Elegant Flower with Vintage Sepia and Onyx Black on white paper. Then I sponged Vintage Sepia all over and punched out the tag shape, tabs and small background piece. The sentiment is stamped with Onyx Black.
I added the ribbon and flower embellishments and assembled on a brown card.
2. For this background, I just stamped all over, then painted the entire thing with diluted Walnut Ink.After stamping the cage with Onyx Black, I sponged inside the cage, cut it out and attached it with a Pop Dot.
I added ribbon and a different flower embellishment and assembled it with a few extra layers of paper.
