Hi bloggers!
I'm back!!
Last January, I had chance to demonstrate at CHA for Tsukineko showing new product - “Ink Potion No.9”. It is a water based ink solution for blending, mixing, coloring water based inks and paints.
I’d like to share what I made at my demo table, playing with Ink Potion NO.9:
“What you need”
Shipping Tags (or uncoated
cardstock) 2pcs.
All Purpose Ink (White Frost or Champagne Mist or Black Pearl.
Jumbo Dauber
Ink Potion No. 9
Memento Inkers 2-3 colors of your choice
Heat gun
Staz On ink pads 2-3 colors (optional)
Versa Mark Dazzle (optional)
Cuttlebug embossing folder and
machine (by Provo
Craft)
How to:
1. Coat 2 tags with All Purpose Ink (by holding the Jumbo Dauber
tightly against the mouth of the All Purpose Ink, while tipping the bottle
upside down to apply ink). This process
gives a shimmery background and seals the tags at same time.
2, Generously Spray Ink Potion No.9 on both tags, then drop multiple colors from Memento Inkers to one tag.
Quickly place the 2nd
tag on top of the Memento colors and
smoosh the 2 tags well.
Open the tags and use a heat gun
to dry; while ink is still wet, it can be moved around for special effects or
patterns. If more color is desired, drop more ink from inkers as you want. New inks make different patterns, so play with it! \ This is the basic background. You can stamp on the surface
with Staz On - it is the only ink that dries quickly over the All Purpose Ink.
If you’re happy with your art, you’re done…and ready to start the next
one1 My curiosity pushes me to try further steps (LOL) Next, using StazOn (direct to paper technique), add some color to the raised area to pop up the image. Then I top it off with Versa Mark Dazzle (also direct to paper technique) to give it a shimmery finishing touch! . At this point, it looks like
leather or something more
magical than
paper. What a fun technique!!! NOTE: If you start your project with coated paper like glossy cardstock, you can skip the sealing process of All purpose ink. Just spray Ink Potion no.9 , drop colors,
smoosh and dry. That’s it! Change color, change the amount of ink and Ink Potion No.9, or add
stamping, embossing powder, you name it! Just play around with this
technique as your heart desires! This is a very forgiving project, you never make mistake – only a new creation. You can substitute any other water based dye inks
in place of Memento (the added bonus of using Memento is that your colors will
be fade-resistant). by Kazuko
